If it's water sports you're after, there's a diving centre at Hotel Salobrena (Tel: 958 61 02 61). Salobrena is one of few places on the coast to boast an artificial reef place just off shore, to shelter and nurture a greater variety of sea life. In the two years it has been in place, the results have been outstanding, and the spot is now popular with divers. More watersports can be found in the marina at Motril (drive east) or Marina del Este (drive west).

WALKING
There are 140 kilometers of roads and paths to enjoy from Salobreña. Enquire at the Tourist Office about the various routes, ranging in length from one hour to seven. Maps and itineraries are available to keep you on course.
GOLF
Try the charming nine hole course five minutes east out of town at Campo de los Moriscos.
SKIING
The ski resort of Sierra Nevada is only 60 minutes drive from Salobreña through some of the finest countryside in Spain. It's an easy drive and very well sign posted so try to make it if you can. Salobreña is the perfect base for a sun and ski holiday.
Rock Beach Ranch at the Hotel Salobreña offers horse riding year round for beginners to advanced riders.
Lessons for children are available under the watchful eye of Gemma.
Gemma is UK trained and qualified to teach all aspects of riding at all levels.

BADMINTON
The Badminton Club in Salobreña requires Members.
The sports hall in Salobreña is now open. It has an excellent non-slip floor and two badminton courts have been provided. The sports hall has good changing facilities for both sexes and has hot showers.
