Phillips claims the midfielder will stay this summer, but hasn’t ruled out late transfer drama.
“He remains, of course he is,” Phillips said Football initiate correspondent Ben Wild.
“I would be surprised if he left now. If anyone was serious about it, a decent offer would have arrived.
“It shows Southampton’s intention, he loves the club. This is probably the best offer Southampton has given a player.
“He looks happy and from the club’s point of view keeping him is a huge boost. It prepares their season well.
“That being said, strange things are happening in football so we cannot rule out a late bid.
“Money talks, if someone comes in with the right offer you never know, they might move out next week.”
