Speaking to Sky Sports, the Liverpool manager said: “Villa hurt us and we needed time to adapt. As soon as we started playing football we saw where the weaknesses were. We played around and the response was important.
“We had to dig deep. I told the boys it was exceptional. Villa have a lot of quality. I’m really proud of the boys.”
On Fabinho’s injury, Klopp said: “He felt a muscle, not too much. He’s quite positive but I don’t know what I can think of it. We’ll see.”

Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane react to victory
Speaking to Sky Sports, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: “We did really well. The boys were amazing for a long time, we knew tonight would be tough. It’s about digging in, to keep going and find a way to win.
“I just wanted to try to calm things down, try to get us to play a bit more. Overall it was a good performance.”
On his goal, Mane added: “It was a good cross from Diaz! Even without power, I usually score so that’s what I try to do! Luis Diaz is a great player.
“When Luis got the ball back I knew he would cross so I just wanted to be ready.”
