Trainspotting actor Kevin McKidd is selling a luxury mansion with pool and spa

Scottish actor Kevin McKidd has sold his luxurious Hollywood mansion for over £4million.

The Trainspotting star put the sprawling property in Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood on the market earlier this year.

The 4,307 square foot abode features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, spa and guest house.

McKidd, 48, had previously tried to sell the house in 2020, but it was then put up for rent after failing to find a buyer.

But property records show it was recently purchased for £4.1million.

Elgin-born McKidd, who plays Dr Owen Hunt in Grey’s Anatomy, made a healthy profit on the house after he and his wife Arielle Goldrath bought it for £3.75million in 2019.

Built in 1986, the home is nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and sits above a three-car garage.

A sales brochure for the property read: “Incredibly beautiful yet warm, intimate and very private, this home can be your sanctuary from the world or host a party with ease and sophistication.

“Located at the end of a cul-de-sac, tucked away safely behind gates (fully fenced) and surrounded by parkland with multiple outdoor patios, mature landscaping, grassy lawn, water pool salt, a spa and a guest house, this house has it all.

But property records show it was recently purchased for £4.1million.

“The entry level features a fabulous sunny living room with wood-burning fireplace and huge French doors that open to a travertine plaza and terraced gardens; gourmet kitchen with dining area, wood-paneled dining room with built-in breakfast bar and Bathroom.

Upstairs is the master suite with a spa-like bathroom, spacious double dressing rooms and two further bedrooms and a bathroom, all with magnificent views.

“This home is truly a gem. Close to all the best schools – public and private – hiking Fryman Canyon, Hollywood and Beverly Hills, but surrounded by nature. The attention to detail, both inside and out exterior, sets it apart from everything else on the market today.”

After studying drama at Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh, McKidd earned her big break playing tragic resident Leith Tommy in the 1996 big screen adaptation of Trainspotting.

He rose to fame in the United States playing soldier Lucius Vorenus in the hit TV drama, Rome and moved to Los Angeles after auditioning for the short-lived American science fiction TV series Journeyman.

A guest spot on Grey’s Anatomy turned into a starring role, and since joining the show, he’s been named one of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People.
